You have probably learned about the dues increase for 2017 when you received your mailer from our association management company. The Board should have notified everyone ahead of time, and for that failure I apologize.
For 2017 dues have increased from $78 a quarter ($312 annually) to $82 a quarter ($328 annually). That is roughly a 5% increase. We had hoped to address this during our annual meeting that was scheduled for November, but we failed to have quorum and thus could not hold the meeting. We are in the process of finding a time in January to reschedule the annual meeting. In the meantime the Board was faced with a decision of whether or not to raise dues. Under our current by-laws the Board may increase the dues up to 5% annually without an owner's association vote. The board voted in favor of this increase based on the increasing cost of maintenance in the neighborhood. Throughout 2017 we will be looking at the condition of Grand Oaks to make a long term plan for both the upkeep of our neighborhood as it exists today as well as how we want to improve the neighborhood over the years to come. We invite you all to join in those conversations and bring your respective opinions and expertise to the table. Comments are closed.
